Dear Fountain of Life Family,
The ongoing federal shutdown is impacting SNAP (food stamp) benefits for families across our nation, including some right here in our church and neighborhood.
As a church, we believe that we enter to worship as a Black-led, multicultural family of believers who share life together. We exit to serve the community and world through the transformative power and love of Christ.
At this moment, we have an opportunity to live that out. Our church is responding to support those impacted by food insecurity both within our congregation and through encouraging engagement in our community. Will you join us?

Ways to Respond
Use the form on this page to communicate all responses that apply.
- I need food assistance. Please contact me with resources or support through FOL’s Benevolence and partner networks.
- I am pledging to donate to the Benevolence Fund. This fund supports members of our FOL family directly impacted by SNAP benefit cuts. I will donate this month.
- I commit to “Exit to Serve.” I’d like to volunteer with or donate to a local food bank or meal site (examples: Second Harvest, River Food Pantry, etc.) or be intentional in supporting my neighbors/community. Check out this article that highlights what local food pantries are asking for as far as donations.
- I have experience/passion for organizing, coordinating, and/or serving food/meal efforts. I’m interested in helping plan, organize, or serve, as FOL may be able to coordinate how we “exit to serve” together.
