Pastoral Anniversary Celebration - 9/13

Pastoral Anniversary Celebration:  This Sunday to celebrate Pastor Gee's 39th Pastoral Anniversary, we welcome Pastor Michael Thomas, a good friend of Pastor Gee for the last 10+ years, to FOL to preach. Pastor Michael Thomas (PMT) is the planter and lead pastor of Radiant Covenant Church in Renton, WA. He is a native of Chicago, IL and it was there that God placed a passion and vision in his heart to start a multi-ethnic church in Seattle. He also serves on the City of Renton’s clergy task force for reconciliation and justice; Michael is also a bridge builder for local schools & organizations, providing conflict management and anti-racism training. Michael earned his Bachelor's of Science in Church & Ministry Management at North Park University. He also earned his Master's of Divinity Degree from North Park Theological Seminary. While at North Park, he served as Lead Chaplain for the Athletics Department & University Ministries - providing pastoral care, preaching, leadership development, and evangelism to 500 student athletes and a staff of 12. Michael is also the co-author of the book "Jesus, Michael, & Mamba", which was written to draw athletes, sports enthusiasts, and non-believers to come to know Jesus. Michael has been married for 26 years to Kimberly. They have 3 children together: Jeremiah, Abigail, and Gideon.
